Sharing Fair Food with the Community

Veg box subscribers receive most of the food grown on our farm, but we also love giving as much as we can to those who may not otherwise be able to access local, organically grown food.

Each Tuesday, we send excess produce from our veg box pack to the Food Hub at Warrawong Residents Forum. There, it goes into food hampers that are picked up just hours later by people doing it tough in the same suburb as our beautiful farm.

This year, we also started sending weekly produce to the Wollongong Homeless Hub thanks to the initiative and generosity of the team at SCE (South Coast Equipment), who were keen to support both local organisations at once. By the end of 2024, SCE will have funded the delivery of over 200 boxes of fresh, healthy, local produce to this wonderful organisation and the people they support.

Over the years, a range of people in the community have donated funds that have allowed us to send many hundreds of veg boxes directly to individuals and families in need. Thanks to ongoing donations, we continue to work with local service providers to send produce to those who need it most when we are able. In fact, several veg box customers regularly contribute to this program by donating their regularly scheduled veg box instead of skipping it when they go away. If you have the means and desire, you can do this too! Email our team at fairfood@green-connect.com.au for more information and assistance.

We can't thank our ongoing customers enough for their ongoing business and support, and for allowing us to share our organically grown food with so many in the community!
